Study: Due to Internet blocking, Belarus lost more than $336 million in 2020
The internet shutdown last year cost Belarus $336.4 million. This is evidenced by a study by the Top10VPN company, which drew the attention of Euroradio. The authors concluded that Internet access was not available in Belarus for 218 hours, and 7.9 million users were affected by the blocking. The study notes that the shutdown of the Internet in the country was accompanied by violations of the rights of citizens to peaceful protest, free and fair elections, and freedom of the press.
