Dmitry Monakhov appealed to the ECHR
On July 18, 2013, Dmitry Monakhov, a participant in a protest near the State Duma, against the sentence against Alexei Navalny, who was detained and beaten by police officers, appealed to the ECtHR. In his complaint, he claimed a violation of four articles of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: “Prohibition of torture”, “Right to liberty and security of person”, “Freedom of expression” and “Freedom of assembly and association”.
