The Toropetsk Icon was removed from the Russian Museum
On November 2, 2011, it became known that the Toropetskaya (Korsun) Icon of the Mother of God, which was on temporary display in a church near Moscow, would not be returned to the Russian Museum. A decree of the Ministry of Culture orders its transfer to storage at the Grabar Restoration Center. According to the head of the department of the museum fund of the Ministry, Vladimir Fomin, the icon needs control by restorers.
