In the first quarter, Russian GDP in annual terms grew by only 0.5% , according to preliminary data from Rosstat. This is the lowest rate since the fourth quarter of 2017, “the economy is on the verge of a recession,” Kirill Tremasov, an economist and director of the analytical department at Loko-invest, commented on his telegram channel. For comparison: in the last quarter of 2018, the economy, according to Rosstat, grew by 2.7%.
