16-year-old Iranian Armita Geravand died after she was detained by the “morality police” in early October for not wearing a hijab. Soon after this, the girl fell into a coma. Her death was reported by Reuters, citing the Iranian state agency IRNA. “Unfortunately, Gheravand fell into a coma for some time due to brain damage and died a few minutes ago,” the agency quotes Reuters. Police detained Geravand in the Tehran metro on October 1.
