Runet's contribution to Russia's economy is almost equal to Rosneft's taxes
In 2018, the contribution of the Russian segment of the Internet to the country's economy amounted to 3.9 trillion rubles. This is 11% more than the year before, the Russian Association of Electronic Communications ( RAEC ) reported . The bulk of revenues — 1.95 trillion rubles — came from e-commerce. Marketing and advertising accounted for 263 billion rubles. Infrastructure, including domain, hosting, and cloud services markets, brought in 106 billion, and media and entertainment — 75 billion.
